May is Mary’s Month

May is the month of Mary. Several Pope’s have written on this topic, such as John Paul II in 2002: "Today we begin the month dedicated to Our Lady a favourite of popular devotion. In accord with a long-standing tradition of devotion, parishes and families continue to make the month of May a "Marian" month, celebrating it with many devout liturgical, catechetical and pastoral initiatives!"  Read more about this beautiful tradition by clicking HERE.

It is thus appropriate to introduce a new Web site dedicate to the Legion of Mary.  This site was developed by Maureen Ward from Annunciation of the Lord Parish who is also a strong Pro-life activist. It has many useful Marian links which should be put to good use during this month.

Brothers and Sisters in Jesus,
I just saw this great article today by Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa from the Zenit News Summary I receive weekly. This teaching clearly differentiates those who belong to Christian churches versus those who belong to sects and what our disposition should be towards them. I can truly understand why he is Papal Retreat Master!

God Bless!

Just received this from Paul and Sue Schieman. Seems to be related to this Web site: http://www.4mycanada.ca/

I pass on the message below from Faytene Kryskow regarding the passage of Bill C-484, the Unborn Victims of Crime Bill now being studied by a parliamentary committee. I believe Faytene may be onto something in the spiritual realm, I share this for your own consideration.

FROM OUR DIRECTOR: URGENT CALL TO PRAYER/FASTING

Aidan Reid

Dear Fellow Canadian Pro-Life Group,

Surrey-Delta Pro-Life (British Columbia) is teaming up with Life Decisions International, the publishers of The Boycott List, for an organized effort across Canada. With 103,000 abortions in Canada in 2003, that is 103,000 children who will never take their first steps, learn to read, and be the next generation of great thinkers. WE MUST DO SOMETHING!

Planned Parenthood is the driving force behind this extermination. They educate for early sexualization of children, promote birth control, and deem abortion as a moral right. They are the leading promoter and provider of abortion in the world and their business is killing our children and scandalizing our youth. Let us work to minimize their efforts by informing corporations, who support Planned Parenthood financially, that we will not support them until they change the recipients of their donations.

Our goal is to have thousands of Canadians across Canada joining together in an organized letter writing campaign. This campaign will continue month-to-month, with the target corporation changing every month.

Please forward the attached letter to your pro-life contacts and members. The more people that commit to this campaign, the more money we will be able to divert away from Planned Parenthood's extermination.

As well, we have included a graphic, which can be printed and handed out or inserted in newsletters. Please forward this to churches in your area and encourage the local pastors to promote this effort.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call us at 604-574-0225 or email us at: monthlytarget@gmail.com.

Yours for Life,

Jayme-Dawn
Surrey-Delta Pro-Life Society

FYI - In Canada, Planned Parenthood is called: Federation for Sexual Health AND OPTions for Sexual Health.
