Hi Jim,

Since I announced the Essential Classics of Catholic Spirituality collection in yesterday's email, we have been flooded with email responses from members who can't wait to get their hands on a copy. It's been crazy, and our wonderful Princess Secretary has been working overtime to respond to all of the emails.

So I stayed up late last night and finished the "Sneak Preview" of our Essential Classics of Catholic Spirituality collection. You can download and look at the preview right now at this link:

http://www.prolifesearch.com/spiritualclassics.html

On another note, we have been getting lots and lots of questions and comments about the Essential Classics collection. In the next few days I will be sending more information to answer those questions. The top three questions/concerns are:

- QUESTION: Besides downloading the collection, will I also be able to get a hard copy?
- SHORT ANSWER: Yes, but we will only make bound hardcopies of the multi-volume collection available at a greatly discounted price to those who purchase the download version in November. You'll basically be able to get them at just over cost. More to come on that.

- CONCERN: The whole of Catholic spirituality is not just limited to the Western Classics. Will the collection include the classic works of some of the Eastern Fathers as well?
- SHORT ANSWER: Yes! Be sure to check out the "Sneak Preview."

- QUESTION: How much does it cost?
- SHORT ANSWER: The entire multi-volume collection is going to sell for over $100 eventually, but there will be a HUGE discount when we start accepting orders for the download version in the coming days. You'll literally be paying a fraction of the cost for both the electronic AND the multi-volume bound versions.

Of course, the "short answers" above are just that - short answers. I will be filling you in on all of these questions/concerns.

God bless,
Jack Manhire

The Israel Project

Help us educate the world about Iran's nuclear threat

Dear Supporter,

Religious extremism, particularly Islamic fundamentalism, is one of the key dangers in the world today. The Iranian president is a religious extremist who has been open about his belief that it is his destiny to trigger a period of chaos, war and bloodshed in order for Islam to dominate the world. A nuclear weapon would be his perfect tool to advance this extremist agenda.

Iran could give a nuclear device to terrorists to detonate on American soil. 9/11 was a tragic, horrific event, but a nuclear bomb in an American port city would wreak devastation on an even greater scale to our citizens, our economy and our way of life.

Please help us sound the alarm about Iran by supporting our work at http://www.theisraelproject.org/donate.

Iran has been identified as the world’s leading state sponsor of international terrorism, funding Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, and Hamas. Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said the following:

  • "We must prepare ourselves to rule the world and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of Return [the return of the Mahdi]."
  • "Have no doubt… Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world."
  • "…With respect to the needs of Islamic countries, we are ready to transfer nuclear know-how to these countries."
  • "Israel no longer has a reason to exist, and will soon disappear" (Friday, 10/20/06)
  • Israel is doomed to be 'wiped from the map' in a 'war of destiny.'
  • The Holocaust is a myth.

President Ahmadinejad is a man with a terrible mission. Help us stop him from realizing a dream of world domination that he sees as his religious destiny: http://www.theisraelproject.org/donate.

TIP works to help prevent Iran from getting the nuclear bomb by educating the world through the media. Our recent efforts have included:

  • Collecting over 81,000 signatures for a petition to the UN asking Kofi Annan to enforce the UN Security Council’s resolutions concerning Iran
  • Carefully researching facts and emailing them to journalists who cover Iran before they write their stories
  • Setting up press conferences with experts on Iran, nuclear proliferation and human rights so reporters can ask questions face-to-face or via world-wide conference calls
  • Educating the press on practical actions that can help stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons

Our staff is efficient, but educating the media costs money:

  • $250 covers the cost to email fully-vetted background information to 10,000 journalists worldwide
  • $600 lets us create and email a “breaking news” press release to journalists
  • $720 helps fund an intern researching facts for journalists’ stories
  • $1500 allows 125 journalists to participate in a worldwide telephone briefing
  • To have the freedom to maintain our way of life in America, Iran must be stopped. Help us educate the press and the world – and stop Iran before it’s too late.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Laszlo Mizrahi

Pray for Our Soldiers

According to the weather reports, it is my understanding that it is 122 degrees in Afghanistan right now -- and the low will be 111! Our troops need our prayers for strength, endurance, and safety. If it be God's will, give these men and women the strength they need to prevail.

Pray for our soldiers...

Prayer
"Lord, please hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."

Prayer Request: When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world. Of all the gifts you could give a Canadian Soldier, Sailor, Airman, deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one.

Hi Jim,

This email should have gone out last Thursday as usual . . . my apologies about that. I suppose Joe and I just got too wrapped up in all of the last minute details of our Essential Classics of Catholic Spirituality collection that we're going to offer you.

If you haven't seen the "Sneak Preview", and you haven't been following the ongoing saga as we roll this collection out -- well, I just published a major announcement as to some of the titles that will be in the collection on a new blog only available to members of the pre-notification list. You can access it by checking out this link:

http://www.prolifesearch.com/spiritualclassics.html

Getting back to the regular email . . . one of the titles we're including in the collection is Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales. Joe and I both picked up on a powerful recommendation he gives to us all -- "We must attend to the Business of life carefully, but without eagerness or over-anxiety."

Wow! As two guys in business this spoke to us right away as I'm sure it does to many of you. How often do we become overly focused on earthly business, and ignore the business of our Salvation through Christ? I know I do . . . and all too often at that!

Because of this reflection, we've included top search results from ProLifeSearch on the topic of Business. We hope you find them useful. Tend to your business. But remember, over-anxiety about business does not bring you closer to God.

Business | Bankruptcy | B2B | Marketing | Conference Calls | Office Supplies

And thanks again for helping us support life.
