In June 2005, the Parliament of Canada gave legal
recognition to gay marriage after a process that failed to give
the issue a full and fair hearing and debate. On Friday, June
2nd, 2006, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced that he would
ask the House of Commons to vote this autumn on whether or not
to reopen the issue of gay marriage in Parliament.
http://votemarriagecanada.ca/
Vote Marriage Canada exists to
lead a non- partisan issue campaign, in Parliament and “on the
ground”, dedicated to marshalling a majority of parliamentary
votes in favour of restoring marriage as the legal union of one
man and one woman, excluding all others, and to secure its recognition
as the foundation for families and Canadian society.
