Request Prayer for Companions of the Cross May
Assembly
Greetings.
The Companions of the Cross will meet in formal
'Assembly' the first week of
May near Ottawa (May 1st-5th). This gathering will bring together
all of the priests of our community and many of our seminarians
as well. At this special meeting, which takes place once every
six years, matters affecting our community's life, vision, and
ministry will be addressed, various amendments to our constitutions
and rules discerned and voted upon, and a new Executive Council
elected. We are kindly asking all of our supporters to please
keep this upcoming Assembly in your prayers. Seek the Lord's blessing
and wisdom for us, so that there will be a smooth resolution to
the many important matters that will be discussed and voted upon.
If you feel so inclined, we are even inviting some of you to 'sign
up' for a half-hour of intercessory prayer for us during our Assembly.
Here you can find a special link to a page on our Companions'
web site explaining how you can sign up to be a part of this 'prayer
vigil':

Hello
VM,
Last year while I was in Rome on a pilgrimage
I met a priest from India. When he was leaving to catch his train
he came right up to me and said that he didn't want any money,
but, he could sure use some Catholic articles and monthly journals
to give to his parishioners. He is a parish priest at the Infant
Jesus Cathedral in India. If you are able to send him your monthly
journals (when you have read them) he would be very thankful.
Please feel free to use my name if you send him some journals.
His address is:
Rev. S. Pushpanathen
Infant Jesus Cathedral
Arisipalayam,
Salem - 636 009
T.N. India
You’re in my prayers and have a very blessed
Easter! God bless and thank you!
Peace +

Dear
Friends in Christ,
With the Entrance into Jerusalem we announce to the world that
Christ is King.
With the Washing of the Feet we are commanded to serve one another.
With the Institution of Holy Communion we receive his Body and
Blood.
With the Passion and Death we are reminded of the cost of our
sinfulness and encouraged to repent.
And with the Resurrection we joyfully celebrate God's power over
death and are given a glimpse of what awaits us.
This coming week, we will celebrate the most holy
and sacred days in our liturgy. We invite you to join us in prayer
and reflection so that we may enter this time with open hearts
and clear minds.
Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of
God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming
in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself,
becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the
name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every
knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the
earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to
the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:6-11)
This Holy Week, be assured of our thoughts and
prayers for you who have supported us for so long. We ask you
to pray for us in our ministry so that we may bring you and your
family spiritually fulfilling films and media. For more info on

Sincerely in Christ,

Brothers
& Sisters in Christ!
Just a quick heads up!
Our parish youth group (Life Teen) presented a passion play to
our parish last Friday evening, based upon the Stations of the
Cross. The play had much impact and was a very moving experience.
It was nothing short of a sincere and fervent prayer. There is
something incredibly special about young people on fire for Christ
and his church that really allows God to touch hearts.
In fact I was so moved, we have arranged to present
the play a second time this Good Friday at 8:00 pm at Our Lady
of Visitation church at 5338 Bank St. The pastor Fr. Brian Hennessy
is excited about it and has graciously offered his church. If
you know of anyone who might be "searching" or lukewarm
or far away from their faith, invite them to see this Passion
play. Can you think of a better way to humbly and sensitively
evangelize people other than by witnessing the Passion of Christ
through these young people.
Happy Easter … Jim Meuse
Our lady of Visitation is located at 5338 Bank
St. just 7 minutes south of Hunt Club. |
