MAILING LIST SURVEY … IF YOU READ NO FURTHER TODAY, PLEASE ANSWER OUR MAILING LIST SURVEY! Virtual Ministry started out as an email service each Friday (you can read more about our history by clicking on the “About Us” page above), and continued to email everybody about the weekly updates. Then we decided to ask you if you wanted to be reminded when the webpage was updated. We would like to honour your requests, however our list has been deleted and we need you to spread the word about this and to let us know if you want the weekly reminder. It will be as simple as clicking here if you want to be reminded of the updates to the site {which usually happen every Friday}. If you choose not to be reminded – please remember to come back and visit weekly.

I am hoping that you will read the whole issue. If not you may miss hearing about the sunny south, at the very bottom. Where we will introduce Tim’s Tidbits

Please see Graham's Corner in which Vatican-based journalist John Allen discusses a recent conversation he had with Cardinal Marc Ouellet (Archbishop of Quebec City) about the first year of Pope Benedict XVI's papacy. As an extra bonus Graham shares with us: EWTN - Lenten Parish Mission.

This week’s lighterside comes from MaryRose Chan “The smell of God” is a touching story............... ending with: ANGELS EXIST but some times, since they don't all have wings, we call them FRIENDS.

Are you aware of the newest feature? Each week – we send you back a year, to see how VM was a year ago. It is right at the bottom, below the birthdays.

Do you know Lynn and Chris du Quesnay? They have e-moved. Do you know their new email address? Ask here and we will re-e-introduce you.

A last Hello!

This is a reminder that the day is approaching...Sunday March 12th.
Bring in your containers, empty or otherwise (put your mane on it). Drop them off in the red and green bins provided in the kitchen, any time.
Send your list of good ole faithfuls to share with others who might have less time to investigate suitable products. Include the place of purchase and cost, if possible...this will make it even easier for the beginner.

Thanks so much for your interest and help in making this information display a success!

Bless you!

Graham Cuthbert

St. Mary's Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, 100 Young Street, is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day, seven days a week. Lent is the perfect opportunity to spend time in adoration and grow in Christ. You may bring your own prayer books, use the books in the chapel, read the bible, pray the rosary, or just sit, relax and enjoy the sweet peace that comes from simply being in the Presence of Jesus.

For further information, please contact Pat Stotts pstotta181@rogers.com

John Pacheco The Rosarium of the Blessed Virgin Mary
"After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:9-11)

Don't be like the guys in this passage who were looking into the sky too long instead of getting to work. Be part of the New Evangelization. Do something with your life, and make a difference for Jesus.

Quebec Cardinals Respond to Pro-Homosexual Letter by 19 Quebec Priests
By John-Henry Westen http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/mar/06031011.html

MONTREAL, March 10, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) - For the first time Quebec
Cardinals Jean-Claude Turcotte of Montreal and Marc Ouellet of Quebec
City have responded to the Feb. 26 letter of 19 Quebec priests dissenting to the church's teaching on homosexuality and on the letter of the Canadian religious Conference dissenting on a host of Church teachings including homosexuality, contraception and assisted suicide.

In a press conference today Cardinal Turcotte downplayed the open letter signed by 19 priests, some of them in prominent positions, in the province of Quebec. (see coverage: http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/feb/06022706.html).
The letter was published in the La Presse newspaper. "In the 60s there was a book published entitled 'The Church is going to the devil'. We are used to a certain amount of disagreement," said Turcotte.

Referring to both the letter from the 19 priests and another dissident open letter issued by the Canadian Religious Conference (see coverage:
http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/mar/06030801.html ), the Montreal Cardinal said, "We will bring to Rome the concerns that our people have here but we have to take into account the reality of the other (Catholic) churches (in other parts of the world)." The reference was to other national churches, which have a far more faithful approach to the teaching of the Church. "We will never separate ourselves from the other churches," he added.

Cardinal Ouellet was less dismissive about the dissent. He noted that while the CRC may proclaim to speak for all religious, it in fact does not. "The majority of the 4000 members of religious orders in my diocese would not approve what is written in the document of the CRC," he said.

Editor’s note – I know that you have read these types of things so often, but there are still some of us in VMland that are not following. So heed this gentle reminder!

This is an excellent message that ABSOLUTELY applies to ALL of us who send e-mails.

Please read the text below....

Do you really know how to forward e-mails? 50% of us do; 50% do NOT. Do you wonder why you get viruses or junk mail? Do you hate it? Every time you forward an e-mail there is information left over from the people who got the message before you, namely their e-mail addresses & names. As the messages get forwarded along, the list of addresses builds, and builds, and builds, and all it takes is for some poor sap to get a virus, and his or her computer can send that virus to every e-mail address that has come across his computer. Or, someone can take all of those addresses and sell them or send junk mail to them in the hopes that you will go to the site and he will make five cents for each hit. That's right, all of that inconvenience over a nickel! How do you stop it?

Well, there are two easy steps:
(1) When you forward an e-mail, DELETE all of the other addresses that appear in the body of the message. That's right DELETE them. Highlight them and delete them, backspace them, cut them, whatever it is you know how to do. It only takes a second. You MUST click the "Forward" button first and then you will have full editing capabilities against the body and headers of the message.
If you don't click on "Forward" first, you won't be able to edit the message at all.

(2) Whenever you send an e-mail to more than one person, do NOT use the “To:” or Cc: columns for adding e-mail address. Always use the BCC: (blind carbon copy) column for listing the e-mail addresses. This is the way that people you send to only see their own e-mail address. If you don't see your BCC: option click on where it says “To:” and your address list will appear. Highlight the address and choose BCC: and that's it, it's that easy. When you send to BCC: your message will automatically say "Undisclosed Recipients" in the "TO:" field of the people who receive it.

Have you ever gotten an email that is a petition? It states a position and asks you to add your name and address and to forward it to 10 or 15 people or your entire address book. The email can be forwarded on and on and can collect thousands of names and email addresses.

A FACT: The completed petition is actually worth a couple of bucks to a professional spammer because of the wealth of valid names and email addresses contained therein. If you want to support the petition, send it as your own personal letter to the intended recipient. Your position may carry more weight as a personal letter than a laundry list name and email address on a petition.

So please, in the future, let's stop the junk mail and the viruses.
Finally, here's an idea!!! Let's send this to everyone we know (but strip my address off first). This is something that SHOULD be forwarded.

Hope you find the above info useful and helpful and let's stamp out spam!!
