DANCING WITH GOD

When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I kept seeing "DANCE" at the end of the word. I remember that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn't flow with the music and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky. When one person realizes what is happening and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another. It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness, and attentiveness from one person, and gentle leading and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word GUIDANCE. When I saw "G", I thought of God, followed by "U" and "I".

"God", "U" and "I" dance.

As I lowered my head to pray, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about life. Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God's blessings and mercies be upon you and your family, this day and every day. May you abide in Him as He abides in you?  Dance together with God, trusting Him to lead and to guide you through each season of your life.

Please share this with someone else and pray, for prayer is one of the best gifts we can give or receive. There is no cost, but lots of rewards. So, let's continue to pray for one another.

Jim here is a PDF version of Redemtionis Sacramentum. I know as we spoke this morning that the battle has already begun. You might want to touch base with Richmond again or maybe if we flooded the Archbishops office with emails and phone calls then he would have to take action.

The Sabourins sent this for those of you that are troubled by the school masses at Sacred Heart in Stittsville.  How the kids are receiving communion.

Hi there

I just wanted to say a quick thank you for including the wonderful movie review and strong recommendation by Father Harrison for the movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose.”

I find it is SO hard to find a decent movie that I can recommend to my 16-year-old daughter (who is, like most teenagers fascinated with things of a supernatural nature, and yes searching for answers) or that we can see as a family with my 12 year old... but it sounds like this is an exception.

I appreciate getting this recommendation.

Thanks again! God bless.

Inside CHRI-October 2005

People We say adieu, sort of, to Keith Groves. Because Keith is about to become a daddy, he felt he needed a 9-5 job, so he has left the station as an employee, but not as a volunteer. He will continue hosting the Hot 20 Countdown and will help in other ways. He announced his departure and introduced his replacement-Jon Zettler-on the air in the days leading up to Sharathon.

Jon is a graduate of Canadore College and his voice has been heard on Jack-FM, Life 100.3, and KAOS in Central Ontario. Welcome, Jon!

Ninnera Channer will soon join our weekend hosts.

To get to know Jon and Ninnera better, visit our Voices and Faces web page.

Signals CHRI-FM-2 at 100.7 Mhz in Pembroke began broadcasting a test signal on Tuesday, 27 September! Congratulations to the Pembroke team of Jim Wolff, Rev. Edwin McCaig, and Carl Nagora of Pembroke, and to our own Tristan Brake for seeing the fruit of your efforts. Stay tuned for celebration information next month!

Programming Our Sharathon on 21 and 22 September was an incredible blessing to us and, we hope, to you as well. We sincerely thank our 320 pledgers for $28,260 in one-time donations and $1,604 in new monthly donations. The one-time donations will meet the needs of three major capital projects that will help our staff and make us sound better. The new monthly donations will be added to our much-appreciated current base of $7,000 in monthly donations to meet increasing operating expenses. We sincerely thank all our volunteers, prayer warriors, pastors, fundraising team, phone operators and you our loyal listener for making it possible. Praise God!

Later this month, we begin broadcasting Rabbi Arnold Fine's weekly half hour study of the Old Testament at 1PM Sundays.

Contests CHRI 99.1 FM joined forces with the Ottawa Gatineau Wedding Planner in September to give away a $4,000 Winter Wedding! Congratulations to our winners, Christian Marcel St. Pierre and Nashma Kay! Keep checking www.chri.ca for details on how you can win a Diamond Wedding Band! Also in October, we'll be giving away tickets to see Petra (October 12th), Graham Kendrick (October 20th to 22nd), and Carolyn Arends (November 4th). In other contests, don't miss your chance to win The Chronicles of Narnia radio drama series...not to mention Ottawa Sens tickets! And if you have a birthday, you may qualify for our newest contest, Blessings Birthday of the Week. Brock will tell you all about it this month!

Events This is an eventful month! Wilf and Connie Wright celebrate their retirement from the Canadian Bible Society on the 1st at Dominion Chalmers United Church with special music by Ernie Cox. We help present concerts by Karen Lahaise on the 6th, Petra and Black Talon on the 12th, and Graham Kendrick on the 22nd, all at Dominion Chalmers United Church. In addition, CHRI 99.1 FM presents Critical Mass and David MacDonald at Parkdale United Church on the 15th.

We hope you enjoy the beauty of the changing leaves this fall and we wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
