Outrageous Reporting

Dear friends,

Thank you all for making the Rally a huge success. God was truly with us that day.  Unfortunately, some of the media were not that honest.  So I wrote this letter to one news organization.  Please feel free to spread it around your email lists...

Dear Sir:

I was the principal organizer for the March for Marriage & Freedom held On Parliament Hill which drew between 15,000-20,000 people according to RCMP estimates.

For some inexplicable reason, an article by Eric Beauchesne and Jim

Bronskill reported there were 4,000.  The article is linked here:

http://www.canada.com/national/story.html?id=b6fbe411-4b6a-484c-a67f-0fbcb9c

I would like to know why even the liberal CBC can get the number at least somewhat right (they reported it at 15,000 – see http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/04/09/same-sex-050409.html), while your news organization seems to think that shoddy journalism, or even worse, liberal media bias is an acceptable practice.

I do not understand how such distortion can further your credibility with thousands of residents of Ottawa who were there and know the truth.  And it was a slap in the face to the thousands who travelled 5-8 hours from all parts of Ontario and Quebec to attend the rally.

Perhaps someone can take the time to explain it to me.

You can be sure that I will use this event to expose your news organization, and all of the media organs who furthered this incredible piece of shoddy journalism and rank media bias.  My team will have the pictures and the video to prove it, and I will use this as a soapbox to expose the liberal media once and for all in this country.

This reporting solidified the impression of Canadians that the liberal

Media in this country is as thoroughly corrupt as the political establishment.

I guess that explains why the biggest and most explosive reaction at

The rally did not even concern marriage or freedom.  It occurred when Tristan Emmanuel challenged the liberal press in front of the 20,000 assembled there to tell the truth about the Rally.  And now, we all know why his prophetic comments received such an explosive response.

With God's grace, our team was responsible for the biggest mass political demonstration on Parliament Hill in recent memory, if not ever.  Did any one of you take this angle?  No! Of course not!  That simply sounds too impressive.

Believe me when I say that, as principal organizer for this event, I

Will use the network I have established with the rally participants to expose your liberal slant, and put in motion the end to the liberal dominance of the press in this country.

CanWest and the Canadian Press (CP) keep focusing on the obvious lack of accountability in government, and yet have no apparent accountability in their own organizations and in reporting the true facts to the Canadian public. And while the politicians are accountable through the electoral process, there is no accountability, much less consequences, for your behavior.

CanWest has distorted the numbers at the rally by a factor of 5.  This is an opportune time to examine CanWest's (and indeed all news sources in this country) reporting and confirmation procedures.  Perhaps, it is time that a watchdog, grassroots organization is formed to expose the extreme distortions and bias of the Canadian media.

I can be reached at 613-220-2093.  You can call me any time.

Thank you.

http://press.arrivenet.com/bus/article.php/618021.html

OTTAWA, April 9 /CNW/ - Earlier today, Canadians from all faiths, backgrounds and regions of Canada marched on Parliament Hill to urge MPs to defeat Bill C-38.

"We are delighted with the turnout," said Dr. Charles McVety of the

Defend Marriage Coalition. "According to the RCMP estimates and local Ottawa television station CJOH, over 15,000 people were in attendance, much, beyond the expectation of the organizers."

Among the speakers were Official Opposition Leader, Stephen Harper,

Liberal MP Pat O'Brien and Conservative Senator Anne Cools. Liberal MP O'Brien said "This is the largest protest I have ever seen on Parliament Hill."

Organizers enthusiastically welcomed Harper's speech, which reached out

To new Canadians and Canadians of all religious backgrounds.

"This was an unprecedented show of unity of over 30 ethnic community leaders, as well as pro-marriage politicians," added McVety. "We hope that all MPs in Parliament hear the message."

"Canadians must continue to take all steps necessary to convince MPs to vote against Bill C-38," said McVety. "The vote on Bill C-38 will become an official record and a stepping stone towards electing a pro-marriage parliament."

The Defend Marriage Coalition is disappointed that Jim Bronson, CP

Reporter, was factually wrong in reporting that only 4000 people attended the rally.

Thank You & Pictures

Greetings everyone,

Now that I have a little time to breathe, I want to extend my deepest

Gratitude to everyone involved in the March's effort. There are too many people to thank because this was such a collective effort, and we pulled something off that was truly amazing and God inspired. With virtually no adverting, or at least very little, we were able to get 15,000 people on the Hill, perhaps the biggest political demonstration on Parliament Hill in recent history, if not ever.

A few individuals need to be mentioned:  my co-organizer, Debbie Jodoin Whose tireless efforts helped make this event the success that it was.  Tony & Diane Liuzzo for their rock solid spiritual and practical support, Fr. Galen and St. Maurice for their unyielding support and encouragement, Costa Fokoefs for his work in Montreal, Tony Marwick and his crew with the Multi-Faith Coalition for their tireless work in Toronto, Peter Sinn and the Toronto Chinese Catholics, Rev. Dominic Tse for the Evangelical Chinese Churches, Charles McVety and Defend Marriage, Paul Lauzon and Aidan Reid of Campaign Life for the marshalling, Steve Gonzalez and his team for the most difficult job of the day: traffic control, Jim Prescott for constructing the banner props, Cyril Dowling for website design, Gerry Larkin and the KofC for mobilization and participation, LifesiteNews.com & Freedominion for their promotion, Jean Pierre Bernard and Toronto's "Polonia Brass Band", and David MacDonald and the "March4Marriage Band".  And of course, my wife, who perhaps put in as much time and effort - if not more - than I did.

If I have missed anyone, please forgive me, but as you can see, it was hardly a small network.

I am sure God is going to use Saturday to see that His Will is done.

Praised be Jesus Christ and Blessed be his mother.

Regards,

John Pacheco

Greetings everyone,

After much thought, prayer, and reflection, I am officially declaring my intention to run for the nomination of the Conservative Party in the electoral district of Ottawa West Nepean.

I simply could not find peace within my soul if I declined to participate, especially knowing the circumstances and the candidates (and their positions) running in my riding. I don’t understand how I can possibly win this nomination considering the odds and the time constraints against me to sign up new members, but I must follow what I believe to be God’s calling.  And that, in the end, is the bottom line.

For those people living in the electoral district of Ottawa West Nepean, you are eligible to vote for me as the nominee for the Conservative Party in this district.  Here are Ottawa West Nepean’s electoral boundaries:

Its boundaries are Riddell Drive, March Valley Road, Herzberg Road and March Road in the west, Highway 417, Richmond Road and the CN line in the south and Rideau River, Baseline Road, Merivale Road, Highway 417 and Sherbourne Road in the east. It includes the Bayshore, Crystal Beach, Crystal Bay, Britannia, Carlington and Lincoln Heights districts.

I have also included a map of Ottawa West Nepean.

If you are a current member (who has yet to renew for 2005) or a potential member, I encourage you to fill in the attached membership form and attach a cheque for $10 made payable to the “Conservative Fund Canada – OWN”.  You need to be a member in order to vote for at the nomination meeting.

In order to collect information on my support, I would appreciate that you drop off your completed membership form and your payment at my home address at 40 Canter Blvd. (near Merivale and Meadowlands). I will, in turn, deliver all of the membership applications to the appropriate Party officials.

Since all new memberships must be received by the Party by Thursday April 21 by 5pm, I ask that you drop off your membership at my home by WEDNESDAY APRIL 20 (preferably before this date).

The nomination vote will take place around May 8.  It is critical that you make yourself available to come out on that evening and vote for me.  In the event that I do not get elected, your membership and vote is not wasted, as this will be a ballot system of voting where the nominee must get 50% of the vote.  In other words, we can have an influence on selecting a more socially conservative candidate over a more liberally minded one. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or

Lara, my financial agent, by email at lara1@sprint.ca.

And please, spread the word to family and friends who live in this riding.

Time is of the essence.

Regards,

John Pacheco
