James 1:17

Did you remember? The Julie Foran suggestion of last week.  We are no longer using that oxymoron, in Virtual Ministry.  It means that the term same-sex, and that Holy sacrament marriage, will no longer go together in here.

Did you attend the mission last week?  Thank you Peter Herbeck for leading us through our mission.  Proud Father here, did you see those good looking kids doing the music on Monday night? I felt like Ben Lobo!  Fr Mark, what do you say about that BAND!

Hey Peter, I will pray for your success with getting Fr Bob ,to China.

Webmaster Todd Winn has put a picture of Jesus looking at Pope John Paul II.  And also changed the Papa photo - because some of you thought that the Holy Father was crying ... Well done and thank you Todd

Please turn up your DAILY prayers for Our Holy Father!

Hi Brothers and Sisters, I just wanted to let you in on this incredible deal at Zellers. They are selling the Passion 2005 Calendar 12" x14" with an 8 Pack Movie Print set for only $3.24 regular $17.95.  The Calendar is absolutely beautiful and brings back a flood of memories from watching the film and the 11"x14" Movie Prints are stunning. They had a couple of hundred still left at the Zellers in Kanata.

Anyhow it's a great way to start off the Lenten season.

God bless!

Cyril Dowling

Jim,

I have evaluated these two sites on behalf of my kids prior to letting them use it.  They are two very good, loyal, and what appears at least on the surface to be very good, solid resources of the Catholic church for kids in Grades 1-6 (MyFriend), and youth in Grades 6-12 (DisciplesNow).  I recommend them for VM families who need an extra boost and to give something "GOOD" for the kids who just wanted to surf.

Jim,

As a former editor of a newspaper, and webmaster for 4 websites, I must comment that curly brackets (e.g. { } ) are a definite "no-no," that is, bad etiquette, and are rather  difficult to read and interpret in print and on websites. Editorial comments and/or additions are generally made in square brackets (e.g. [ ] ).I would suggest that on the VM website you change your practice for the sake of your readers.

Father Michael

Well dear VM family, I have been chastised. Mea culpe, mea culpe, mea maxima culpe.  Now if I can only remember!

Hi everyone,

I received very encouraging news today about our efforts.  We have one more hurdle to cross, and then we're REALLY in business for this rally.

Keep up the prayers.  They are working.

Hi all!

I just spoke with a friend who was talking to Leonardo Defilippis, the director of the Therese movie.  He told her that the movie will open in even more places in Canada dependent on opening weekend results in the major cities that it's opening in this weekend.

So... if you're planning on seeing the movie at all (and personally I really hope you are!), then go this weekend.  It's playing at AMC Kanata starting Friday at 1:30, 4:20, 7:05 and 9:30.  The times are the same for Saturday and Sunday.  At Cineplex Orleans it's playing starting on Friday at 7:20 and 9:30. Then on Saturday and Sunday it's playing at 1:40, 3:50, 7:20, 9:30.

My friend lives in Vancouver and she said it was the #2 movie at the theatre she went to last weekend!

Please feel free to forward this email so we can get lots of people to go and see it!

God bless you!  Sheila

"Be not afraid to tell Jesus that you love Him; even though it be without feeling, this is the way to oblige Him to help you, and carry you like a little child too feeble to walk." St. Therese of Lisieux

I will SAY that there will be a showing as a fundraiser for the Holy Family Institute [which was Virtual Ministry's SITE of the MONTH for Nov / Dec:] http://www.holyfamilyinstitute.ca/

This fundraiser - will be after the movie leaves the main theatres, so SEE it this weekend, and come back and see it for a good cause, later!

James 1:17 This week Graham talks about programming.  Dan talks about the art of letting go, (adding "Please pray I have the time to follow up promptly with number 279.   God Bless all the good news you bring forward on VM."), and Cyril's golf page still has a prize for the contest - be sure to go visit all of our regulars!
James 1:17 Our brother Michael Baker, needs a drive! Many of you have heard him playing the guitar either at Anne & Frank Egan's or Mary & Brett Barlow's place.  As you may know , Michael is blind and is looking for a drive to St. Mary's for the next few weeks.  He is planning on going to the 5:00 p.m. mass for the next few weeks.  Can you help with a drive? This is what some of our readers have to say:

Lynn du Quesnay

Hi all.

Canadian Tire is yet another organization that is supporting same-sex. Read the article below.

Chris emailed his outrage and I phoned in mine. Their Customer Service Rep confirmed everything stated in the article, including the fact that Canadian Tire has no plans (as of yet) of reversing their decision. The rep took my contact information and said my complaint would be recorded.

Chris and I will be boycotting all Canadian Tire stores, as well as cutting up our Canadian Tire credit cards.

Please consider doing the same...until Canadian Tire reverses this outrageous decision.

Come, Holy Spirit.

Love, Lynn :)

denis belanger  ... Please forward, the only way organizations listen is when it starts to hurt their pocket books.

Tony Casta

Dear Friends,

Like you, I depend on Canadian Tire to keep my family vehicle on the road at somewhat more reasonable cost than other third party suppliers. Not to mention yard implements and the monopoly-like joy in using coloured money. However, I am willing to go elsewhere and pay for my objection to CT's latest support of gay marriage by their decision to sponsor an upcoming 6 part TV series entitled "My Fabulous Gay Wedding".

Full Story:  http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2005/feb/05021408.html

Please consider a small note to CT's feedback department ( feedback@canadiantire.ca ) to voice your concern and for those of you in the Madawaska Valley please remain open in attending a picket at the Pembroke Canadian Tire (the largest in Canada I am told) should we be forced to organize such. Attached below is my father-in-law's response to Canadian Tire earlier today. I may serve as a possible template.

Christ's peace,

Anton R. Casta

Hi Jim,

The America Bishops put out a list of top 10 movies of 2004.  It was said "The Passion of the Christ" got #6 on their list.  After looking at the site, The Passion was in sixth place... but only because it is alphabetically so.
