This
will be a short contribution ... and I am sorry for any lost emails
YES
- I did the "delete" thing too well, and lost a ton of info. Maybe, if you
find that I missed something from you, you can resend it to me
Please
let me know - did you have any problems last week or so? Did you link to Peace
through Mercy? Have anything bad happen? I got a report, that concerns me, and I
would IMPLORE you to be sure to tell me of such problems
Speaking about your OPINION - this is our fifth year - and we have always felt that this was your page ... so when I received an email from one of our sisters {I will tell you who she is next week - if it is OKAY with her}, and she asked "Your webpage is nice, but could you tell me where Jesus is?". It made me think, and I had to wonder, if we are failing at "Turning up the lights!"

Companions' Ministries Mass Photos
Hi.
The
Companions of the Cross celebrated their annual 'Ministries Mass' at
Holy
Rosary Church in Ottawa this past Thursday evening. At this community
gathering,
5 seminarians were 'installed' in various ministries (i.e. lector, acolyte):
Carlos Martins, Rachad Khadij, Jaimie Utronkie, Simon Lobo, and Brian O'Neill.
Please pray for these men and all our seminarians as they progress in our
formation program. Thanks to Richard Donnelly for taking these pictures. If you
would like to view some photos of this event, please visit our online

Dear
friends,
Happy
Advent! The following is self-explanatory. We hope that you will
join us. If you would like to be a Coordinator for this Project please
send me your name and telephone number for references purposes. God
bless.
Yours
in Christ, Diane
Dear
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The
role of the Parish Priest has often been that of Father, Brother,
Confidant, Psychiatrist, Marriage Counselor etc. to us. They baptize us,
administer the various Sacraments to us, and have been part of most of our lives
almost from beginning to end. Our Deacons have also been working
hard to assist our Priests in carrying out the numerous duties that their
positions require them to perform. In addition, the worldwide shortage of
Priest is a pressing concern at this time. Locally, our Archbishop, Archbishop
Marcel Gervais is spearheading the program to interest more young men in
discerning a Vocation to the Priesthood.
With
a view to showing our love and appreciation for the many sacrifices these men
make on our behalf, we are looking to offer Masses for the Priests, Deacons and
Seminarians of our Archdiocese, and to pray for an increase in Vocations to the
Priesthood, beginning with the year 2005. All that is required is a
Co-coordinator for each Parish who would recruit parishioners to offer twelve
Masses for the year. This could be done by asking thirty-six
parishioners to donate five dollars each, or by collecting two dollars and fifty
cents each from seventy-two people etc. The idea is to give as many people
as would like to do so, the opportunity to participate in this Project. If
each Parish sponsors at least twelve Masses, six for the smaller Parishes, it
would enable us to have a Mass offered for these intentions every day for the
year
A
'blurb' that may be used by the Co-coordinator to get the word out to their
Parishioners is given below. If you would like to participate
in this Project, please call Diane, at 830-0593 to register your Mass dates in
order to ensure that each day is covered and that there are no duplicates. These
Masses may be offered at your own Parish.
In
His Homily at Seoul, Korea, October 7th, 1989, our Holy Father urged the Laity
to "Pray for your Priests." We hope that you will join us.
May God bless you.
Blurb:
'Friends of the Clergy' would like to offer Masses for the Priests, Deacons and Seminarians of our Archdiocese, and for Vocations to the Clergy, each day during the year 2005 and beyond. As a Mass now costs $15, each Mass could be offered by more than one person, depending on the number of people who would like to participate. The Mass offering should read like this: For the Clergy and Seminarians of our Archdiocese, and for Clerical Vocations, by 'Friends of the Clergy'. To ensure that we obtain these Masses for the year, we encourage you to book your Masses as soon as possible. Your Contact person for our Parish is: (Name and telephone number of Coordinator). Thank you, and may God bless you abundantly.

Did
you know that in our precious Canada there is a new prohibition for
the
chaplains in the armed forces against having the cross on their

This is a brand new regulation/law.

Canadian Military to Remove Cross - what's happening?
LifeSiteNews.com
Tuesday November 16, 2004
Canadian
Military to Remove Cross from Cap for Chaplains
OTTAWA,
November 16, 2004 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Canadian Defence
Department
announced plans Monday to remove the Christian symbol -- a
Maltese
cross -- from the caps of its army chaplains. The move is claimed
to
be because the military's first Moslem chaplain was hired last year.
"We
are looking at seeing what developments there could be in that field
because,
to have a Muslim or to have someone of another faith under that
same
cap badge -- I think it wouldn't be of service to them," military
Chaplain
Jean Bourgeois told the Toronto Sun.
Both
Conservative MP Jason Kenney and chairman of the Commons defence
committee,
Liberal MP Pat O'Brien were critical of the move.
"I
think that's ridiculous. It's typical political correctness," Kenney
said,
referring to one suggestion to replace the cross with the branch
insignia.
"Pluralism doesn't mean you eliminate symbols for every
different
community. It means you respect all the different symbols,
whether
it's the Star of David for a Jewish chaplain or a (crescent) for a
Muslim
chaplain."
O'Brien
doesn't believe the legitimacy of the "multi-faith nature of
society"
reason for the proposed change either. "I think we can carry that
a
little bit too far. Why shouldn't you be able to embrace your own
religious
symbols?" he said.
