Dear
friend,
VICTORY!!!
November 2 was a day that will go down in history - both north and
south of the border. It happened!
Tuesday
night in Huron East's council chambers, Mark Beaven's ISP Child Prn Blocking
bylaw passed third reading!
For
the first time ever, Canada has a law that requires ISP's to work with police in
blocking identified child prn sites.
What
a profound start to our War on Prngraphy!
Thanks
to Mark Beaven, his committee, and all of you who helped make it happen -
your letters of support to Mark and the ISP's made a huge difference!
This
is not the end of this story. It is only the beginning. This bylaw has
wings.
I
believe that we will soon see the day when similar bylaws are in every province
and territory of this country. You can be sure that the provinces and
Ottawa will be sitting up, taking notice, and feeling the heat.
Many
of our volunteers already have this bylaw before their own town councils and
many other volunteers are working hard to do the same. We cannot thank
each of you enough for this remarkable united effort!
With
your support we will continue to work towards further victories at the
provincial and federal level.
Your
financial support is critical for us to wage an effective battle. Thanks
to all of you who have so generously donated! Here is a sampling of letters that
we have received.
Captain
H. in Timberlea, Nova Scotia who sent $10: "Keep up the good
work!"
Margrieta
in Brampton, Ontario who sent $60: "Thank you for your initiative and hard
work. God bless and prosper you in the fight against prngraphy."
Nicole
in Mont-St-Hilaire, Quebec who sent $100: "Congratulations for the
good work. I wish there were more people like you that would take the
opportunities that the Lord places before them, but I am sure glad you did, this
can change the world we live in."
Marty
in Trail, B.C. who sent $50: "Thanks for all you're doing!! Great idea!!
Great job!!! Finally we can put our thoughts/feelings into action, instead
of 'writing that letter in our minds' or 'I'm gonna write a letter.' God
is blessing your efforts indeed and expanding your territory."
We
are in this fight to win and we need your support to work towards further
victories.
Won't
you consider becoming a quarterly supporter? To make a one time, or ongoing
donation of support, please go to http://www.unitedmothers.ca/donate.php

Mothers is a registered not-for-profit corporation, however, due to the advocacy

Well,
after 2 years of legal wrangling, Justice will be served.
Scott
Peterson, who murdered his wife and unborn child in Redwood City, California,
has been found guilty of BOTH murders: for his wife, Laci - Murder 1 for
his child, Connor - murder 2
This,
despite a SHAMEFUL campaign by Pro-abortion advocates to disregard the life of
Connor Peterson as nothing more than chattel.
Scott
faces sentencing Nov. 22. He will face a minimum of 25 years in jail. DEO
GRATIAS!

Time

Hi.
Mr.
John Jerome of St. Mary's parish has volunteered to help compile and edit a
book of testimonies about Fr. Bob Bedard. He would like to see this book
published in time for next summer's festivities surrounding the celebration of
Fr. Bob's 50th anniversary to the priesthood. This book will be a witness to
what Fr. Bob has meant in the lives of so many people, and a testament to God's
grace. Everyone is welcome to contribute anything they see fit, be it a short
story, a funny anecdote, a homily/teaching remembered, an observation,
etc... we would love to hear from you! The final draft will be
scrutinized by the Companions of the Cross, to ensure it really is a good
'portrait' of the man we all love, admire, and thank God for. So, start
thinking/praying about what it is you may feel led to contribute, and then send
it anytime in the next 5 months to:

The
debate on Assisting Suicide in Canada
The
Euthanasia Prevention Coalition exists to establish a well-informed broadly
based network of groups and individuals who support measures that will create an
effective social barrier to euthanasia and assisted suicide.
Justice
Minister, Irwin Cotler, in reference to assisted suicide, stated: "he
decided it is time to go back to the drawing board in light of recent
high-profile assisted suicides in Quebec and British Columbia."
Alex
Schadenberg, the executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition
maintains that the Evelyn Martens case in BC and the Charles Fariala case in
Quebec prove to us that the current laws concerning assisting suicide are
correct and need to be enforced by impartial juries.
Monique
Charest, who committed suicide on January 7, 2002, with Evelyn Martens at her
side, was not terminally ill. Court testimony from her physician confirmed that
she didn't have any condition that would lead to her death but was being treated
for symptom management and depression. Monique needed professional help, not
suicide.
Charles
Fariala, from Montreal recently committed suicide, allegedly with the help of
his mother Marielle Houle. Charles Fariala was in the early stages of MS and
experiencing depression. He was not terminally ill. Charles needed professional
help, not suicide.
We
don't need to change our current law, we need to protect and enhance the lives
of people with disabilities, the elderly and other vulnerable Canadians.
