Dear friend in Christ,

I am Basil Houlahan.  Together with my wife, Helen, we have been corresponding for the last three years with Father Jaimy Moonjely, a Vincentian priest, who is working in a huge parish in Tanzania.

Father Jaimy, a true Vincentian, has a heart for the poor.  He is living and working in an area of abject poverty.  The plight of the children of the parish, many of whom are orphans as a result of the scourge of AIDS, is particularly weighing on his heart.

The enclosed information package is an outline of a plan from Father Jaimy’s heart, a plan that must be taken from being a dream and made a reality.  To this end, we feel that God is calling us to seek, for the children of Bombamilli, Tanzania, the funds needed to build an orphanage that will house one hundred and fifty children.

 Father Jaimy has appropriately named the orphanage the Holy Family Child Care Center.  This project needs prayer that God will bless the efforts of all who involve themselves in the fulfillment of what we believe to be God’s plan.

The project also requires funding.  As Father Jaimy states, the amount required in Canadian currency is $90,000. To that end, we seek financial assistance for Father Jaimy’s children.   We expect in the near future to be able to provide tax receipts for all donations.   Please contact us for more information, if you, in prayer, feel called to support this effort.

Please pray for Father Jaimy, the children and parishioners of Holy Family Parish in Tanzania, and please pray for Helen and I.  In Jesus’ name, we thank you.
