FRIENDS - you have been asked to pray for Fr Dennis...

PLEASE - that is all that you are asked to do now!

DO NOT PHONE - him, nor the hospital ... you CANNOT visit!

PRAYERS WORK - ever doubt it?

I passed my French oral exam this past week and would dearly like to say thanks to all who prayed for this outcome.   ... Thank you all so MUCH!

From: Graham Cuthbert

My father (Robert) has been in the hospital in Toronto since Monday April 26 with unstable angina.  The cardiologist has recommended that he undergo a quadruple by-pass operation, likely early next week (May 3-7).   I would appreciate having my father kept in prayer, along with others who are in need of prayer, including Fr. Dennis Hayes.

I forward to you the following ZENIT story, knowing full well - that we can have discussions on this:

Camden Bishop Says He Wouldn't Give Governor Communion

CAMDEN, New Jersey, APRIL 30, 2004 (Zenit.org).- The incoming bishop of the Camden Diocese says he would not give Communion to Governor James McGreevey, a divorced-and-remarried Catholic who supports abortion.

Bishop Joseph Galante said Thursday that he was taking the stance primarily because the Democratic governor remarried without receiving a Church annulment, the Associated Press reported.

The bishop, who was installed in the diocese today, also cited McGreevey's support of abortion rights, stem cell research and other positions that contradict Church teaching.

Last week, Cardinal Francis Arinze, prefect of the Vatican Congregation for Divine Worship and the Sacraments, said a Catholic politician who supports abortion should not go to Communion and priests must deny them the sacrament.

Hi Jim,

Want to let you know that I've just bought a small townhouse in Western Hunt Club - a few blocks away from Bob and Bev Birch and John and Lucy Lawlor, not far either from John and Linda O'Donnell.  I'll click here for part of a letter I've sent to some friends - if you'd be kind enough to spread the word, I'll be grateful to you. Hope you and the family are all well.

Peace,  Liana

Subject: Cursillo

Jim, I have Cursillo Appplications & Associated Information on my Computer.  If you know of someone who wants to make a Cursillo, then let me know and I can bring the Papers to Church.  The next Cursillo is at the end of November, but they limit it to 30 persons so, it's good to get your application in early.  They are sent to St. Elizabeth's parish on Merivale Road. Want applications? Contact Frank at: frankgernon@virtualministry.ca

Senate passes gay hate-crimes bill. The battle is not yet over.

 By SUE BAILEY

OTTAWA (CP) - The Senate passed legislation Wednesday to extend hate-crime protection to homosexuals, but MP Svend Robinson, the bill's sponsor, wasn't around to celebrate his hard-fought victory.

The openly gay New Democrat was in self-imposed exile in Vancouver as his private member's bill jumped the last major hurdle to becoming law. Senators voted 59-11 to pass the bill as applause echoed through the ornate red chamber.

It now requires only royal assent.

Bill C-250 Prayer

The Bill C-250 Miracle Prayer

Heavenly Father,

In a spirit of humility and total dependence on Your infinite mercy, we place before You now the Canadian people and its government officials.  For the sake of Your sorrowful passion, have mercy on this land of Christian martyrs. Eternal Father, we offer You the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the entire nation.

As a broken and divided Christian community, we unite ourselves to one another and to Your mystical body at this time.  We invoke the name of Jesus Christ and draw upon the power of our Crucified Lord to expel the darkness falling upon our land. You  promised us that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for us.

So now, at this late hour, as the gates of hell hammer at Your Church, we boldly proclaim together as one body united in You:  We believe in You.  Come Lord Jesus.  Save us.

REMEMBER... IF NOT YOU, WHO? IF NOT NOW, WHEN?

What have you done? Emails? Phone calls?

From: Daniel Jeffrey

 Dear Friends,

The following is a quick way to voice your opposition to the hate crime legislation amendment called Bill C-250.  The Bill has, unfortunately, just been approved by the Senate in an overwhelming majority. Once the Crown approves it, it will become law.

Even so, it is still worth voicing our indignation.  Would you consider visiting the website below and let your voice be heard?

Let us pray daily for our Canada and our leaders and legislators.  Even as our skies seem to darken, Christ our Light is our hope and our sure Victor.  Let us

remain faithful to Him, and offer for our land the ministry of Intercession in union with Him. Your brother in Christ, Daniel
