Divine Mercy Feast...

Dear family, friends and acquaintances,

We are sending out this brief introduction along with an attached file entitled Devotion to the Divine Mercy, 2004.  The attached file contains excerpts taken from the book "Pillars of Fire in My Soul - The Spirituality of Saint Faustina", edited by Robert Stackpole, STD and published by Marian Press.

The passages are from the second section of the book entitled "Essential Features of the Devotion to The Divine Mercy", which is the text of a lecture by Rev. Ignacy Rozycki, STD, Doctor of Dogmatic Theology. Fr. Rozycki was appointed by Pope John Paul II to examine the revelations to Saint Faustina and so spent nearly 10 years of his life studying the writings of Saint Faustina. This resulted in a tome of around 500 pages, which was presented to the Vatican as part of the official investigation into Sr. Faustina's life and virtues.   Linda has been reading and studying this document and has compiled the quotes most relevant to preparing ourselves to celebrate the universal feast of Divine Mercy. (This year it will be celebrated on Sunday April 18th).   For any who are not familiar with the Divine Mercy devotion this is a splendid introduction.   For those who are, if you are anything like Linda and I, PLEASE BE ADVISED there is quite a bit more to this feast than we realized. The graces available to us, if we are well prepared and well disposed are of staggering proportions.   We encourage you to read these three pages carefully and prayerfully. And if at all possible join in the novena which begins on Good Friday. The requirements for the novena are spelled out in the attached document (Click Here). If you have any questions please don't hesitate to email or phone and we can try and clarify things for you. (506-738-1057)

Have a grace filled Holy Week, Triduum and novena.  ... In Jesus, Our Lord of Mercy ... Marcel & Linda

Can You Help?

Hi Jim,
Nutshell is helping the Bereaved Families of Ontario (Ottawa Region) with a fundraiser so they can keep operating. They provide a valuable service to those who have experienced the death of a loved one, friend or co-worker. It is non-denominational, though they provide counseling and peer support that includes directing the grief-stricken client to their worshipping community to gain the benefits of faith support. I know several people who have used the service and as a result of their healing, come back to their faith in a vibrant way.

I would like it if you could help spread the word about this benefit concert event to VM. It's NOT a religious event, unless you count laughter as a way to keep demons at bay. Oh yeah...there's also the belly dancers to open the show. OK, so it's not your typical event, but we figure that it's good for those serving the bereaved to be amused and lighthearted as they approach their vocation.

Thanks in advance for whatever support you can give.

All for now, Peter    click here for the News Release

This information is jolting -- try to read the whole thing.  I know two men who were in the military and were at the site at that time.  One was a helicopter pilot who was dumping on the reactors. Praise God he is alive and well. A true miracle.
