Issue No:  VM 232 (2004-14) April 2, 2004

"Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Dave Farrell. He passed away, peacefully and courageously at home, from cancer, on March 29, 2004. We also ask that prayers be raised up to God for all family and many friends of Dave; that they may know the comfort of the Lord during this time of grief."

Subject: last week’s Brian’s Story

Man, I hate doing this cause maybe it just doesn't matter. It may not have been written by a dying boy but it's still a good story. http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/t/theroom.htm

"The Room," the Touching Story Written By a 17-year-old Boy Just Before His Death-Fiction!  "The Room" was actually written by speaker and author Joshua Harris and is in his book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye."  He says it was something that he put on paper as the result of a dream he had while in Puerto Rico for the 1995 Billy Graham Crusade and published in his magazine the same year.  Interestingly, Brian Moore was also real.  He did attend the high school described in the eRumor and lost his life as the result of a traffic accident shortly after having presented "The Room" for the meeting of Christian athletes.  His friends and family believed that he had written it and the story about Brian was passed along to others sincerely.  Joshua Harris told TruthOrFiction.com that he appreciates people getting the facts straight about the origins of "The Room" but is more concerned that people hear the message of the story than knowing who actually wrote it.

Carla has always had “editing” and “techie” privileges with VM ... I knew that this was fiction, but exactly as Carla had stated, above, it was a good story.  Please ensure to go to the following: click here   to see what she has prepared for us.  I know that many of you are aware of these sites {we have included them as Site of the Week often}, but still read what she has put together so eloquently for us.

Staying with this theme - there was a message immediately below this one, that I would like to hear your comments on. Of course the message encourages sending an email to 10 who send to 10 who send to 10 etc. etc. etc.

Subject: Want Cheaper Gasoline,

This is an oldie that keeps circulating...and occasionally, some creative people even take the time to edit it [in the US - they write Exxon & Mobil {did they actually become one?}, and in Canada - PetroCan & Shell {also merged?}].

My plan - even before we start to let you all have the copy of the email {which you all have been forwarded it at least half a dozen times}, is to open up some conversation on this being able to have any effect.

So what do you think? Can we not buy gas from the BIG companies? Will it hurt?

Click here to see what the plan is - BUT I AM NOT  encouraging you to email everybody yet!!!!!

Hi All:

I know some of you are tired of receiving these reviews of Jesus The Christ.  Please feel free to delete this or read it. This is the best review I have read to date by a Professor of Metaphysics at Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum.

PAX CARITAS,  Mike

From: Sheila Trainor

Hello everyone!  If only you could see how many people are on this list!

I've been working for Action Life (which is Ottawa's educational pro-life organization) since December.  One of my tasks is organizing our annual Hike for Life.  The hike is our major fundraiser for the year and a lot depends on its success.

The hike consists of either a 5 or 10 km route along the Rideau Canal.  We start at St. Patrick's Basilica in the basement and go from there.  There's entertainment by an Irish band as well as some Irish dancers.  We end the walk with a hot dog lunch with donuts for dessert.  Now if you're not a hot dog fan like me that doesn't sound so thrilling, but donuts are always good!

If you're interested in participating what you do is get a pledge form from me.  Ask people to sponsor you, show up at St. Pat's on Saturday, April 24th.  Registration is from 8am to 10am and the kickoff is at 9am.  The hike will officially end around 12pm.  We will be walking rain or shine!

I may also need some people to volunteer to do the registrations, help in the kitchen, be at the 2 checkpoints we have along the way, help tie balloons for the kiddies, etc.  If you're interested in this please let me know also.    Contact: Sheila@virtualministry.ca

I think that's all.  If you have any questions please feel free to email back.

Thanks!   Sheila

Subject: Bill C-250

Bill C-250 is about to pass the Senate. That means Canada can no longer be considered a democracy.

We need a MASS grassroots movement for religious freedom.  We need "Canadian Freedom Day" on Parliament Hill.

Fight now or it's over for generations of our children.  It's that simple.
