Issue No:  VM 231 (2004-13) March 26, 2004

From: Joe Lecour {our friend in Sudbury}

17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. "I wowed them," he later told his father, Bruce. "It's a killer. It's the bomb.

Brian's parents had forgotten about the essay when a cousin found it while cleaning out the teenager's locker at Teays Valley High School in Pickaway County. Brian had been dead only hours, but his parents desperately wanted every piece of his life near them, notes from classmates and teachers, his homework.  Only two months before, he had handwritten the essay about encountering Jesus in a file room full of cards detailing every moment of the teen's life. But it was only after Brian's death that Beth and Bruce Moore realized that their son had described his view of heaven. It makes such an impact that people want to share it. You feel like you are there." Mr. Moore said.

Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend's house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted.

The Moores framed a copy of Brian's essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. "I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it, " Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son's vision of life after death. "I'm happy for Brian. I know he's in heaven. I know I'll see him.

SITE of the WEEK!

From: Tate, Martin

Hi Jim here is the URL for Steve Woods website

www.familylifecenter.net

From:  dan-gutoskie
I had hoped to connect our readers to a fabulous one hour broadcast on how to strengthen marriage in tough times. It was available on Steve Woods "Family Life Centre International Marriage Builders" web site. The address is
www.familylifecenter.net  . The weekly broadcasts are available under the "Live Radio" icon/link, where readers can click "Listen to the Most Recent Show." However, the broadcast in question (#337) was replaced several days sooner than expected, so I can't pass on the desired program. For those who like "Focus on the Family," this site is similar, only with a strongly Catholic flavor.

Could you please pray for a special intention?

Subject: Prayer Request

Hi Jim, I can't mention any names but please submit this prayer request to VM.

Please pray that a woman with Alcohol addiction gets help fast. One of the daughters in the family has threatened to commit suicide and the other teenage daughter has drug related problems. The mother has been drunk every night last week and the oldest daughter is very distraught. Please lets pray that Jesus enters into their hearts.

God Bless!  <*}}}< <*}}}< <*}}}< <*}}}<

NOTES ON THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST SYMBOLISM
These are personal notes from a group discussion with a priest called Fr. Sean of the Legionaries of Christ. The discussion took place on Friday, February 27, 2004 at the St. Joseph Center in Alhambra. Fr. Sean said he has seen the movie 6 times and that his order had a priest on the set every day that Mel Gibson was shooting the movie. Because of this, he was privy to much information about the symbolism throughout the picture. Please forgive me if the notes seem to ramble. They are merely a guide to ideas brought up in discussion that night and are by no means a comprehensive list.

There have been many writers on the "Passion of the Christ" ...

This writer {Ted} is one, of our VM family ...

From: Mike Staples ... Thought I would share the following reflection a good friend of mine wrote after viewing Mel Gibson's "The Passion of Christ."

Folks - go back and look at last week’s Virtual Ministry...  with all of the problems in Toronto, have you gone to the site? Go again and read the two installments sent last week from Lillian Culumovic ... for instance:

So, as you have read, we have started our campaign to distribute these tracts, so that churches and individuals can give them out to people who have just seen the film, at the cinemas.

We are making this tract available to anyone who wants it. If you are from outside the UK and can't afford the postage then you can download the complete tract yourself for free, for distribution yourself. If this interests you, go to www.revelationtv.com/tract.htm

Are you going back to the show on Good Friday? Will you hand out these tracts?
