Hello,
Meagan went into surgery at 10:00 this
morning and is due to be finished any time now. I went in to wait with
Pauline for a little while, and she said that this morning, the respirator
was removed and Meagan was able to breathe perfectly well on her own!!!
Pauline was then able to hold Meagan in her arms for the very first time.
The nurse got her a rocking chair and she and Mike were able to hold her
and sing to her for about 45 minutes. Pauline said Meagan kept looking at
them, then drifting off to sleep, then peeking at them again with one eye.
She is strong and stable and all are hopeful that she will come through
the surgery without incident. Pauline and Mike really appreciate all your
prayers and support. They feel very loved.
So now we wait. I'll
let you know as soon as I hear anything further.

Hello everyone,
I spoke with Mike's
Dad this morning and Meagan is continuing to improve! She is now receiving
only about 25% oxygen. She is reaching out and holding their fingers, and
becomes calm and peaceful whenever her Mom or Dad are around (which I
think is most of the time!) The surgery for the lesion on her back is now
scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday. I'll let you know if I hear anything
else today. Keep praying!

Hello everyone,
I just got in from out
of town and got a phone message from Pauline. Meagan is somewhat
stabilized and she may have her surgery in the next couple of days.
Pauline has been released from the hospital and she and Mike are
exhausted. They said to let people know that they are not returning most
of their phone messages these days as they are spending every moment
either at CHEO or resting. I'll let you know when I hear anything
further.
By the way, I forgot to mention that Meagan is absolutely
beautiful. She has a swirl of dark hair the colour of her Mommy's and her
face is so sweet. She is a little angel. I got to touch her head and her
arm. To see Pauline and Mike with her (talking, singing, praying) was very
touching. They are amazing, grace-filled people.
