Final Results of the 2002 Fund-Raising Campaign

Reader:
We received the final donations by checks and we are now
able to assess our fund-raising campaign for the fiscal year
2002.
Thanks to the support of 5,627 readers, we surpassed our goal
and raised $230,761! These funds are crucial for allowing ZENIT to carry
on its news service.
We are most grateful to each of the
individuals, organizations and communities that supported us according to
their means. Gifts ranged from $2 all the way up to $4,000, as in the case
of a most generous Australian donor.
Encouraging too are the
numerous messages of support we received from all over the world during
the campaign. Some of these messages were from missionaries and
communities who told us how useful ZENIT is for their work of
evangelization. These messages {some with promises of prayers in lieu of
donations} were overwhelming.
The moral and financial support we
have received, for which we thank God, encourages us enormously in our
work and gives us great confidence for ZENIT's future.
Given the
success of the 2002 campaign, we wish to tell all our ZENIT readers, and
very especially those who have supported us morally and materially, that
we are very happy to say: "When ZENIT Calls...Readers Respond!"
As
in the past, we are confident that the media using ZENIT material will pay
for the right to republish, and that, together with donations from
particular benefactors and institutions, as well as revenues from select
advertising, we will be able to fund the remaining 60% of our projected
expenses through June 2003.
We trust that the media that already
agreed to a fee schedule for use of ZENIT will honor their commitment. We
also hope that other media that are already using ZENIT's stories would
contact us about arranging a fee schedule.
Although the 2002
campaign is officially over, ZENIT is always in need of additional
financial support. We encourage our readers, if possible, to send MONTHLY
donations, even in small amounts.
There are 120 readers who now
send monthly donations. These donations help ZENIT's stability, since we
know we can count on fixed sums. The total received monthly from these
readers is $1,500, a figure we hope will rise.
